Pinaverium Bromide: An L-Type Calcium Channel Antagonist
Pinaverium bromide is a calcium channel antagonist which inhibits the calcium influx by blocking the voltage-dependent calcium channel (L-type) at the smooth muscle cell in the gastrointestinal tracts. Many studies have suggested that pinaverium bromide induces a relaxation of the gastrointestinal tracts. Therefore, pinaverium bromide is used for the treatment and relief of symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). (The product is for research purpose only.)
