Zafirlukast is a competitive and selective peptide leukotriene receptor antagonist. It binds to the CysLT1 receptors competitively with these cysteinyl leukotrienes (LTC4,LTD4 and LTE4). On the other hand, zafirlukast metabolism by cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) has been reported.
