Application
Ziprasidone: A Selective Antagonist at the Dopamine D2, Serotonin 5HT2A, and 5HT1D Receptors

Ziprasidone hydrochloride monohydrate is a benzisothiazolyl piperazine-type atypical antipsychotic that shares the serotonin2A/dopamine2 (5-HT2A/D2) profile of the atypical antipsychotics. Ziprasidone functioned as a selective antagonist at the D2, 5HT2A, and 5HT1D receptors, and also as an agonist at the 5HT1A receptor. Ziprasidone is hepatically metabolized by aldehyde oxidase and cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). (The product is for research purpose only.)
