Solar-cells for converting a solar energy into an electrical energy are an important eco-friendly technologies. In recent years, research using ionic liquids as non-volatile, nonflammable and electrochemically stable electrolytes of dye-sensitized solar cells has been widely described. Especially, imidazolium iodides are most widely used. Improving the durability of devices by gelation of imidazolium iodides is an important area of investigation.
