Resveratrol is a stilbenoid which was isolated from Veratrum grandiflorum Loes Fil.* in 19401) and has broad spectrum effects including anti-infective, anti-oxidant, and cardioprotective functions.2)
It has been reported that pinostilbene (3,4′-dihydroxy-5-methoxy-trans-stilbene, 1), one of the methylated resveratrol derivatives, has many biological activities. Some of the activities are regarding cell proliferation, algicidal, antiplasmodial, and cyclooxygenase inhibition activity.3-5) TCI provides the product line of stilbenoid derivatives.
