TCI Materials Science News

May 2023

TCI is at the forefront of offering high-quality materials for R&D. This issue covers our materials science topics as follows:

Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) Linkers

Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) Linkers

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are crystalline organic frameworks consisting of a network structure made of covalent bonds. COFs are classified as porous crystalline materials similar to metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)/porous coordination polymers (PCPs) and zeolites. They include 2D COFs, which are constructed by stacking layers of 2D covalently bonded sheets, and 3D COFs, which are constructed by 3D connected frameworks. COFs are expected to be used as molecular storage or separation materials, catalysts, electronic materials, energy storage materials, battery materials, and drug delivery materials, due to their porosity, crystallinity, and structural diversity. COFs are designed and synthesized by combining monomers, also called linkers, according to intended topology. TCI has more than 70 linkers in stock. Graphitic Carbon Nitride (g-C3N4) Related Reagents

Graphitic Carbon Nitride (g-C3N4) Related Reagents

Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) [G0539] is a promising metal-free photocatalyst, and is useful to compare its physical properties. Melamine monomer [T0337] and melem [M3538] can be used as the synthetic raw materials and the partial substructures of g-C3N4. Please use high purity T0337 and M3538 for the precision synthesis of g-C3N4. Room Temperature Phosphorescence Inducers Benzoindole Derivatives

Room Temperature Phosphorescence Inducers Benzoindole Derivatives

1H-Benzo[f]indole [B6283] and 5H-benzo[b]carbazole [B6453] are luminescent materials which induce room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) once added in a very small amount. The RTP property can be controlled by chemical modification. Building Blocks for Near-infrared and Short-wave-infrared Dyes

Building Blocks for Near-infrared and Short-wave-infrared Dyes

Five building blocks (D6175, T3979, E1544, T3457, E1545) are acceptor units for terminal structure of cyanine dyes, etc. and enables the synthesis of dyes with absorption and fluorescence in the near-infrared and short-wave-infrared regions. The absorption/emission wavelengths and solubility of obtained dyes can be adjusted depending on the selected structure. Synthesized dyes are applicable to biomolecular staining and bio-imaging.
