Pifithrin-α (PFT-α): A p53 Inhibitor
p53 (Also known as Trp53 in mice, TP53 in humans) is a tumor suppressor protein that is frequently inactivated in tumors.1) Pifithrin-α (PFT-α) is a p53 inhibitor that blocks p53-dependent transcriptional activation and apoptosis.2-4) Other p53 Inhibitors: Cyclic Pifithrin-α Hydrobromide [C2826] and Pifithrin-μ [P2048].
