Saikosaponin C: An Active Component of Radix Bupleuri
Saikosaponin C, a triterpenoid saponin, is isolated form Radix Bupleuri which has been used as a traditional medicine for more than 2000 years in Asia countries. It has been reported that Saikosaponin C exerts diverse biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antiviral, anti-allergic, immunoregulation, and neuroregulation activities mainly through NF-κB, MAPK or other pathways.
