Clobenpropit Dihydrobromide: A Blood-Brain Barrier Permeable Histamine H3 Antagonist
Clobenpropit dihydrobromide is a selective and a competitive histamine H3 antagonist1-3) and a partial agonist at histamine H4 receptor4) that can cross the blood-brain barrier. In addition, it is reported that clobenpropit enhances GABA release to protect cultured cortical neurons against N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) [M1360] -induced excitotoxicity.5） Clobenpropit also protects against amygdaloid kindled seizures through its effects on histamine and GABA.6) (The product is for research purpose only.)
