Docetaxel (taxotere, RP 56976) is an active semisynthetic analog of paclitaxel (taxol) [
P1632] which is isolated from the bark of the Pacific yew,
Taxus brevifolia. Docetaxel promotes tubulin assembly in microtubules and inhibits their depolymerization, leading to cell cycle arrest at G2/M, apoptosis and cytotoxicity. Docetaxel has solubility in organic solvents such as ethanol, DMSO, and dimethyl formamide (DMF), but very poor solubility in water. Therefore, enhanced the solubility of docetaxel in water, some controlled-release drug delivery systems have been studied. For your reference, [
B4127] is a synthetic Intermediate of the side chains of docetaxel and paclitaxel. (The product is for research purpose only.)
