Application
Inosine Pranobex: An Immunostimulant Agent with Antiviral Activities
Inosine pranobex is a synthetic compound formed from the 4-acetamidobenzoate [A0013] salt of 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol [D0660] and inosine [I0037] in a 3:1 molar ratio. It is an immunostimulant agent that supports the immune system through modulation of T-cell proliferation and T-cell function. In addition, it has been reported to exert antiviral activities in vivo. In 2010, Petrova et al. has reported that inosine pranobex is capable of increasing cytokine levels (IFN-γ, IL-10 and TNF-α) in healthy adults. (The product is for research purpose only.)
