Gomisin A: A Lignan Contained in the Dried Fruits of Schizandra chinensis
Gomisin A (schisandrol B) is a lignan contained in the dried fruits of Schizandra chinensis (Schisandraceae) which is a traditional medicine used as an antitussive and a tonic.1,2) It has been reported that gomisin A possesses various pharmacological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, neuroprotective, and anti-proliferation properties.3-5) In addition, gomisin A has protective activity against hepatic and renal injury induced by substances, such as acetaminophen and carbon tetrachloride.6,7) (The product is for research purpose only.)
