Application
Linalool: A Major Component of Essential Oils with Various Properties
Linalool, a monoterpene alcohol, is a major component of essential oils mainly from the families Lamiaceae, Lauraceae, and Rutaceae. It has been reported that linalool possesses various properties, such as sedative, anxiolytic, analgesic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and local anesthetic effects.1-4) Linalool exists in two enantiomeric forms, S-(+)- and R-(−)-linalool, which differ in their olfactory and physiological properties.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
