Y-27632: A Rho associated Coiled-Coil Forming Protein Serine/Threonine Kinase (ROCK) Inhibitor
Y-27632 is a cell-permeable and selective Rho associated coiled-coil forming protein serine/threonine kinase (ROCK) inhibitor.1-4) ROCK is a serine-threonine protein kinase that has been identified as a target protein for the small GTP-binding protein Rho. It has been reported that ROCK is involved in various physiological function, including smooth muscle contraction and changes in cell morphology. ROCK inhibitors are expected to be applied to stem cell research reagents as well as to agents for hypertension and glaucoma. Y-27632 also inhibits LRRK2 (Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2) -G2019S that is a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.5,6) (The product is for research purpose only.)
