Benzoyl-β-alanine or Betamipron: An Organic Anion Transport (OAT) Inhibitor with Very Low Toxicity
Benzoyl-β-alanine or betamipron, wihch is an organic anion transport (OAT) inhibitor with very low toxicity, is used together with panipenem (a carbapenem antibiotic) to inhibit panipenem uptake into the renal tubule and prevent nephrotoxicity.
