Application
Bupropion Hydrochloride: a Dopamine-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor and a Nicotinic Antagonist

Bupropion hydrochloride is presumed to be a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI) and a nicotinic antagonist. Bupropion is metabolized in liver by cytochrome P 450 2B6 (CYP2B6) to hydroxybupropions which are believed to contribute to antidepressant and perhaps smoking cessation activities.
