7-Methylguanine: A Metabolite of DNA Methylation
7-Methylguanine (m7Gua) is a metabolite of DNA methylation. There are reports that it has been used as a biomarker for DNA methylation which is one of the most common and most studied epigenetic processes.1-3) For your reference, the 7-methylguanine ribonucleoside is called 7-methylguanosine [M3465]. However, the 7-methylguanine base is not involved in the synthesis of nucleotides and not incorporated directly into nucleic acids.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
