6-Thioguanineis: A Cytotoxic Agent with Immunosuppressive and Antitumor Properties
6-Thioguanine (6-TG) is a cytotoxic agent with immunosuppressive and antitumor properties. In cell, 6-TG is converted to the active nucleotide metabolite by the enzyme hypoxanthine guanine phosphoribosyltransferase (HPRT), subsequently leading to inhibition of DNA/RNA synthesis.
