Application
Masitinib: A Potent and Selective Inhibitor of the Receptor Tyrosine Kinase c-Kit.
The stem cell factor (SCF) receptor, c-kit receptor, is a member of the type III receptor protein tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. Masitinib (AB1010) is a potent and selective inhibitor of the receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit.1.2) It is also an inhibitor of platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha/beta (PDGFR α/ß), lymphocyte-specific kinase (Lck), Lck/Yes-related protein (LYn), fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) and focal adhesion kinase (FAK).2) Masitinib was originally developed for the treatment of cancer, mastocytosis and inflammatory diseases as a molecularly targeted drug. Recently, masitinib has also attracted attention as a treatment for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).3,4) (The product is for research use only.)
